Camilla Cutts

mezzo-soprano

was born in Nairobi, Kenya, and came to the UK when she was 18. She studied at Trinity College of Music and is currently studying with Will Hancox.

In Spring 2007 she will be working with Scottish Opera on Madama Butterfly and Lucia Di Lammermoor.  Forthcoming engagements include operatic concerts with Five's Company.

Solo oratorios include Rossini's Petite Messe Solenelle, Handel's Dixit Dominus and The Messiah, and Mozart's Requiem Mass.

Roles include Pulcherio in Mozart's The Deluded Bridegroom, Sally in Barber's A Hand of Bridge, Little Buttercup HMS Pinafore, The Duchess of Plaza-Toro The Gondoliers, Dame Carruthers The Yeomen of the Guard and Lady Psyche Princess Ida.

International tours include The Netherlands National Reisopera in productions of Manon (directed by Anthony MacDonald) and Turandot (directed by Charles Edwards); Carl Rosa Opera Company of Australia and New Zealand, understudying the role of Peep-Bo, and in 2004 performing in HMS Pinafore directed by Timothy West. Camilla has also been involved in education work for The Da Capo Foundation including the ground-breaking Early Years Programme.
